What is Merganser Magazine?

Hi, I'm Jake Ott, the "editor" at Merganser Magazine.

This is an experimental online magazine that seeks to organize and publicize rising writers and artists.

The name of the magazine is inspired by a particular species of duck, the hooded merganser, featuring a mohawk-like plumage on its head.

Exemplars of the eclectic, but conscious creative style we seek to achieve include Carl Sagan, Kurt Vonnegut, Salvador Dali, and Virginia Woolf.

Maybe there's a spot for your work in our next issue. Check out the Submissions page to learn more about submission guidelines and processes.
